Rebel VM-1 (Vintage/Modern Blend)

The Rebel VM-1 is the perfect guitar for those that love the vintage look and feel but long for the modern improvements and high power pickups.

To satisfy those customers, we have selected an Alder body with AAAA Grade Quilt Maple top and a Canadian Maple Neck with matching maple fretboard. The frets are stainless steel and are perfectly level and polished thanx to a Plek machine setup.

The pick guard is a uniquely shaped plastic that serves to protect the quilt top without covering most of it up and still allowing plenty of quilt pattern to show.

The inclusion of Gold hardware sets off the beautiful Vintage Tri-Burst gloss finish. The tuners are vintage style, however the gearing is 18:1 and whilst the bridge base is a typical vintage `Ash Tray' style, the custom and proprietary roller saddles are certainly modern to allow for perfect intonation and tune.

For the pickups, we have selected to marry the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound single coil neck pickup with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails mini humbucker in the bridge position. These two pickups offer a perfect blend between the vintage tones of the Quarter Pound neck and the high output of the Hot Rails.

To compliment these perfectly, we have designed a switching pattern, via a 5 way Fender switch that allows for full humbucker, split humbucker, humbucker single coil with neck, neck and a unique middle position that puts one coil of the bridge pickup in series with the pair of neck pickup and the other bridge coil in parallel. The sound is a unique big middle position with a slight tele twang sound.

In addition, we have installed 2 push / pull pots that allow for Out of Phase whilst in middle position and for Series/Parallel options whilst in humbucker mode.

This guitar has a perfect weight balance and sits very well off the shoulder or in a lap if you prefer sitting down to play.
